Breadfoot All The Latest
All The Latest from Tin Pan Folk
& Americana Artist Breadfoot
May 2024 Edition
Ah goodness. Yup. True fact there was no update in April. Came outta Easter weekend with a head cold. Soon as I felt sort of human I was knee deep in all things Clyde. Huh? Clyde? Yeah well he’s my 88 year Folk Arts buddy. Threw a party for him on the 6th and then the next day I had folks over to the house to work on cleaning and gussying up games and things for ClydeFEST.
Might be if you’ve traversed these waters previously you know that I have been accused of being the stylist for ClydeFEST. This is a children’s art and learning festival honoring and inspired by the Clyde’ work and his motto, “It’s all about the kids.” Was at it for 15 years. Threw in the towel after last years FEST. Main reason was something else Clyde always says and that’s, “If you ain’t making your art everyday, you ain’t making art.” So yeah the FEST conservatively would take up well over 200 hours of my time every year and also commanded a fair amount of bandwidth. So to say that even if I wasn’t doing something for ClydeFEST I was thinking about it. So yeah just needed to be shed of it. It was time. Right so got through prettying things up and then on Thursday I had to load the truck one last time and come the Sunday the day of the FEST, I had to fetch Clyde over and work to make sure he had a good time. Whew. I’m tried all over again just from recapping all that. Uhm, yeah right now with ClydeFEST in the rearview and it already mid month, I tried to get back to my old routine. Which was early morning writing on the weekdays and then on the weekends, studio time. Uhm, easier said then done. Have been a little depressed about he work lately. Mostly has to do with me having to muscle through this latest number. It’s a medley. Working title ‘Good Damn Day For The Next Big Thing.’ Knew when I started it what I wanted it to do. And I had two themes. Took a bit but eventually worked out an arrangement that I liked. Then comes the task of writing, refining and tracking the lyrics. I think last count there were uh, 7 different vocal tracks. And these aren’t harmonies or anything. They are either sung verses or interstitial dialogue. And I’m still not done. Other thing I been doing is trying to get up with the artistic director for the Process Series. Word was that we needed a “confab” to see where things stood and to nail down a date for the 2024-25 season and all that sort of stuff. Hopefully that’s gonna happen soon. Okay what else? Ya know seems that there may be a couple musical anniversaries this year that I need to hi-lite. Gotta figure that out. What would be something cool and or new or fresh that would be appropriate and fun? Stay tuned. And in the meantime there are pics and links in the sidebar. Give ‘em a good look see. And as ever follow along on Instagram and Facebook for more regular updates. Til next time. XOBF

Here's some pics from Clyde's Birthday.
88 years young. Was a good time. And here's pics of Clyde at ClydeFEST. This was the first one in 15 years that I wasn't directly involved with setting it up and then putting it to bed. Felt Good. All I had to do was hang with my buddy Clyde.
Okay so hey this is that new number I'm working on. Not gonna tell ya what's happening. Just listen to the music.
Then drop a comment on Souncloud. Love to know where it takes ya. Video featuring the first live 'workshopping' of my new project Sunnyland. Watch it in the YouTube app for full affect and to be able to learn more about the project and check out the lyrics for the numbers performed lyrics. And say while you're there, leave me a comment. Love to know what ya like or don't like. Cheers!
